Part Two:  "Stay on God's Timing"

Joseph started out on the fast track and all he faced in pursuit of God's purpose where delays and detours and disappointments.

Two mistakes we're most often prone to make:

  1. We want to rush ahead of God.
  2. We hold back from God.

Joseph did two things right:

  1. Joseph stayed faithful to God.
Why?  Because he believed God was with him, and God was watching his life.
Genesis 39:9 - "No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?"

The decisions you make in the spur of the moment reveal who you really are!

  2. He decided to do what he could while he waited on God.
Isaiah 30:18 - "Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!"

When the three kicks of time hit him, he didn't lag behind God, and he didn't try to run ahead of God.  He stayed faithful and he did what he could.
